About Schleich GmbH

Schleich was founded in 1935 by Friedrich Schleich in Schwäbisch Gmünd. Today, the company is one of the largest toy manufacturers in Germany and an internationally leading supplier of realistic animal figures. The famous characters and play sets of the brand schleich® are sold in more than 60 countries and have conquered children's rooms all over the world. As a global player with Swabian roots, Schleich GmbH now generates more than half of its sales outside the German home market. In 2022, Schleich generated worldwide sales of 275 million euros and sold around 40 million animal figures. The company is in the midst of a comprehensive sustainability transformation. As a first step, all figures will be recyclable by the end of 2027. Schleich is also working intensively to find recycled materials for the future production of its toys. In addition, Schleich will optimize and certify its figures and packaging according to the principles of the Cradle to Cradle® circular economy by the end of 2027, in order to ensure the reuse of resources. The company is majority-owned by Partners Group, a global manager of private market investments.
