Our Journey

We're Dean, Jaryd and Tegan, the trio behind Nakie.
Our journey began with a shared love for scuba diving and a growing concern about plastic pollution in our beautiful oceans.

Travelling across the world and witnessing this devastating waste firsthand, we knew we had to take action—but how?

As nature lovers who enjoy camping and spending time outdoors, we decided to combine our passion for the outdoors with our mission to reduce plastic pollution in the oceans.

After 9 months of testing and product development, we created a world-first: a 100% recycled hammock made from 37 recycled plastic bottles. So Nakie was born.
